Deepti Sharma and Rich Ghosh shone as India defeated West Indies by six wickets in their in their Women’s T20 World Cup Group 2 match at Newlands in Cape Town on Wednesday. Opted to bat first, West Indies lost some initial wickets but Stafanie Taylor smashed 42 off 40 balls and kept the momentum towards her side. However, Deepti scalped three wickets and Pooja Vastrakar and Renuka Singh also scalped one wicket each as West Indies were restricted at 118/6. Later, Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten at 44 and Harmanpreet also scored 33 as India registered a 6-wicket win with 11 balls to spare. This was India’s second win in the tournament while i was the second loss for West Indies.
