WhatsApp Chat Backup is one of the most popular search terms and a major issue for those who want to keep their memories protected. In the most recent update, the social media giant has officially transitioned to Google Drive and will no longer rely on WhatsApp’s storage for backups. The firm earlier revealed that conversation backup will use the space of the user’s enrolled Gmail ID rather than the platform’s storage.
Whether you have a Google One membership or not, the instant messaging service will now use Google Drive online storage to store your conversation data. As a result, you will need to be more careful of backups because you may need to free up storage space for WhatsApp chats in addition to photographs, videos, and other files.
Furthermore, if you are a beta tester or do not have enough space in your account and do not wish to pay for additional storage, you can select not to back up your chats. An alternative is the WhatsApp Chat Transfer program, which allows users to relocate their data to other Android phones.
It should be noted that in order to achieve all of this, you will need both the older and new devices to be linked to the same Wi-Fi network. If you want to add more storage capacity to Google Drive, you may do so by subscribing to the Google One plan.
