The skyrocketing prices of tomatoes has weighed heavily on many people’s finances, but this price rise also became the reason for a fight between a husband and wife in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district.
Sanjeev Burman, who runs a tiffin service, said that recently after he used two tomatoes while cooking a meal without asking his wife, a huge fight broke out between the couple.
According to Burman, his wife was upset over the use of the tomatoes as he had not consulted her about it.
After an argument, she decided to leave their house with their daughter, according to Burman’s statement. He tried to find them but couldn’t. Later, he went to the local police station for help.
A senior police officer confirmed that Sanjeev had filed a complaint.
Sanjeev said that the argument started because he put two tomatoes in the vegetable dish he was cooking. He said that he had not spoken to his wife in three days and didn’t know where she was.
The police officials had assured Sanjeev that they would contact his wife and she would come back soon.
