In 2023, the number of DDoS attacks on Russian IT systems may grow, and quite significantly. About it writes Kommersant with reference to the DDoS-Guard report. It is claimed that in 2022 the number of attacks increased by 700% compared to 2021, and this year the figures may increase by 300% compared to the end of 2022.
In addition, there is an increase not only in the number of attacks, but also in their intensity and duration. It is indicated that the number of attacks with a power of more than 100 Gb / s last year increased by more than 600% compared to 2021. And Kaspersky DDoS Protection data indicates that the longest attack lasted 29 days. Data theft and privacy breaches are also not ruled out.
Qrator Labs noted that the nature of attacks began to change as early as late autumn 2022. Their number has fallen, but the complexity has increased. The company predicts that this trend will continue.
“The intensity of attacks will directly depend on the geopolitical background, and the predicted growth may happen even before the beginning of spring,” said Alexander Lyamin, founder and CEO of Qrator Labs.
