The new Mac mini on the SoC M2 Pro is not yet on sale, but it has already been tested on Geekbench. And there he really faster than basic Mac Studio.
In the benchmark, the new product scores 1952 and 15,013 points in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively. In comparison, Mac Studio’s SoC M1 Max scores around 1730 and 12600 points. That is, the new platform is faster on all fronts, but it is worth remembering that it contains 12 processor cores versus 10 for the M1 Max. If we talk about the previous generation Mac mini on the M1, it scores 1715 and 7442 points.
At the same time, it is worth remembering that, firstly, the SoC M1 Max in Mac Studio has more GPU cores, and secondly, the results in Geekbench will not always correspond to the alignment of forces in real tasks.
