The Tata Punch compact SUV has crossed the 150,000 unit sales mark in the Indian market on October 18, 2021, 15 months after its launch.
From launch till December 2022, the total sales of Punch are estimated to be 152,466 units. That is, on a month-on-month basis, an average monthly sales of 10,164 units has been observed.
Tata Motors made a bet in 2021 and the company launched its cheapest SUV and this arrow of Tata hit the right target. The company launched the Tata Punch SUV in October 2021. It was given such a great response by the customers that it made a sales record. In just 15 months, more than 1.5 lakh units of Tata Punch were sold. That’s great performance for any car.
Within the first few months of its launch, it started getting the love of the customers. While it sold 6-8 thousand units in the initial three months, in January 2022 it crossed the sales mark of 10,000 units. Since then (apart from 9,592 units in February 2022) Punch has sold over 10,000 units every month, with the highest being 12,251 units in the festive month of September 2022.
Tata Punch has become the first SUV in India to cross the fastest 1 lakh units sales mark in just 10 months. It is equipped with design, strong performance and 5-star safety rating as the safest car in the segment.
Tata Punch achieved a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. While Tata Nexon is the best selling SUV in the country, Punch is the second best selling model of Tata Motors after Nexon.
Tata Punch price starts at Rs.6 Lakh and goes up to Rs.9.54 Lakh (ex-showroom). It has a seating capacity of 5 people. It is equipped with a 1.2-litre 3 cylinder petrol engine, which generates 86PS of power and 113Nm of torque.
