Tata is already leading the EV space in the country. Now it wants to continue that momentum and it has given us a glimpse of that vision at the Expo. We have been covering Tata EVs in detail at the Expo, but today’s product is the brand’s most ambitious. Today Tata has unveiled the Harrier EV. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Harrier EV 2023.
The overall design of the Harrier EV remains similar to the ICE-Harrier. However, Tata has done a lot of changes giving the Harrier EV its own identity. At the front, we have a closed off grille with the Tata logo. Above the grille we have the connected DRL design. We can also spot the ADAS module on the air dam. What about the side profile? The side profile is more or less similar barring the EV badging. At the rear, we have similar taillamps with blacked out elment that has a connecting strip in the middle. According to Tata, the Harrier EV is almost production ready.
2023 Harrier EV – Specifications
Tata didn’t reveal the specifications, but the Harrier EV will need a bigger battery pack. Tata will need to atleast give it a 60kWh to 70kWh battery pack to give a decent enough range for this big SUV. The Harrier EV will need atleast a 400 to 500km real-world range to be practical.
Features
Tata didnt reveal the interior, but we expect it to come with some new features. For starters, we could see a bigger infotainment system ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, powered tailgate, LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof. Safety features could include 6-airbags, ABS+EBD, ESC, etc.
2023 Harrier EV – Launch
As stated above, Tata says the Harrier EV is almost production ready. Tata plans to launch the Harrier EV by the end of 2023. What about the pricing? We could expect a aggressive pricing, as Tata will be saving a lot on taxes. According to our estimates, it could be priced somewhere between the Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
