In the world of globalization, liberalization & cut-throat competition, people rarely get time for out doors. As a consequent many people confined them indoor & watchout the small screen or indulge them in computers. With the increase of homework & load of academic activities, children too get very less time to get them afresh with fresh air. As a result, they also tend to be in indoor & sit infront of TV, electronic gadgets or even computers.
But the million dollar question is where are we heading for? A busy schedule, a compact atmosphere, a close door confinement & a lonely enjoyment with electronic devices; pave the way of our mental health to what avenue? It is to be analyzed, understood & equated to the extent of maxima, to arrive at a conclusion whether or not, because this is going to be a problem of paramount importance in near future.
An Israeli study shows that TV, computers & electronic devices make youngsters sleep-less during the school years. A joint study by the University of Haifa & Jezreel Valley College found that middle school children with TV or computer in their room went to sleep half an hour later on average while still waking up at the same time. They were also found to also watch an hour more of a TV a day and spend an hour longer on their computers.
Time & again studies show the enormous negative impacts of watching, playing operating & using, TV, computers, electronics gadgets, cell phones etc. The need of the hour is to really feel the black side of using of these devices in abundance & bringing out a self controlled schedule of balanced life otherwise the outcome is in our threshold, which is enough to warn us- ‘be aware lest suffer’.
