OnePlus 11R Unboxing and First Impressions

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 11R smartphone in India earlier this month as the successor to last year’s OnePlus 10R. It has upgrades in all the areas starting from the display, SoC, camera, but this only has one 100W charging variants instead of 80W and 150W options in the 10R. We got to check out the 150W SUPERVOOC Endurance Edition. Here are our first impressions.

The phone has a 6.74-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen which a centre punch-hole. Since it has up to 1450 nits brightness, the screen is bright even outdoors, and the 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut offers vibrant colours. It has 120Hz variable refresh rate screen and also has 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming that kicks in low brightness.

It replaces the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX SoC with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The phone has up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

It has efficient cooling system with 5177mm² eight-channel heat dissipation VC cooling. The phone runs Android 13 with OxygenOS 13, and the company has promised 3 Android OS updates and 4 years of security patches.

Inside the tiny punch-hole, there is a 16-megapixel camera. The earpiece grill is present on the top edge, which doubles up as a secondary speaker.

It has minimal bottom bezel. The phone features an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the button placements and ports, the power button is present on the right side, and the alert slider is back. The volume rockers are present on the left. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top, along with a speaker vent, and it also adds an IR blaster.

The phone doesn’t have an expandable storage. This has a plastic frame, so you don’t see antenna bands.

Camera setup

It supports 4K 60fps video recording from the rear camera, and the front camera supports 1080p 30 fps recording.

The phone has an AG glass back that that has a matte finish and is resistant to fingerprints. The camera module looks similar to the OnePlus 11, but this doesn’t have the Hasselblad branding.

The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC wired fast charging that can charge up to 100% in 25 minutes. It uses world’s first SUPERVOOC S power management chip, which improves the discharge efficiency of the dual-cell battery to 99.5% that is close to no loss, says OnePlus.

The OnePlus 11R starts at Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model and is available to pre-order from Amazon.in, OnePlus online store and OnePlus experience stores offline and will go on sale from February 28th.
