After 14 years, director Trivikram Srinivas is collaborating with Mahesh Babu again for ‘Guntur Kaaram’. The duo had earlier delivered hit movies such as ‘Athadu’ and ‘Khaleja’.
The much-hyped Telugu film is releasing on Friday to huge expectations. It is coinciding with the Sankranthi celebrations.
The film has Sreeleela in the female lead with Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Easwari Rao, Murali Sharma, Sunil, Brahmaji, and others in the cast. Thaman S has scored the music for the Telugu flick which has Naveen Nooli’s editing and Manoj Paramahamsa and PS Vinod’s cinematography.
‘Guntur Kaaram’ Story:
The story of the movie revolves around the king of the underworld of Guntur city and as he falls in love with a journalist who is determined to expose the illicit activities. At its core, the storyline revolves around the unexpected partnership between Guntur Karam and a journalist, portrayed by Sreeleela, who is resolute in exposing and confronting the city’s injustices.
The anticipated plot takes an exhilarating turn as Mahesh Babu’s character becomes intertwined with the journalist’s mission. Their collaboration sets the stage for a distinctive narrative encompassing themes of love, justice, and the intricacies of moral ambiguity. With Trivikram Srinivas at the helm, known for his adept crafting of intricate character dynamics and compelling dialogues, the audience can expect a riveting storyline.
Hype:
As the movie reunites Mahesh Babu with Trivikram, there is a huge craze riding on the movie. However, ‘Guntur Kaaram’ is clashing with ‘Hanu Man’ and ‘Venkatesh’s ‘Saindhav’, and Nagarjuna’s ‘Naa Saami Ranga’. Will the movie live up to the viewers’ expectations? Find it out from the viewers’ words below:
Venky Reviews: A Trivikram style story that is packaged with all commercial elements but none of it makes a solid impact. The movie is solely driven by Mahesh and he is at his best. Kurchi Madatha Petti song and a few entertaining blocks work well. The rest is subpar stuff and the emotional scenes fail to make an impact as the core conflict is silly. A Mahesh Babu One Man Show but all other departments are not up to the mark.
BGM is good in a few scenes but supbar for the most part and feels like a rehash of AVPL at times. Sound Mixing is outright bad.
Trivikram tried to mix AVPL and AD together but it ends up feeling like a replica of the same scenes from those movies. Dialogues are also not at the level we expect.
SSMB is the only one who gave 200% and deserves all the credit for this film #GunturKaaram
The biggest problem with the movie is the story itself. The conflict point is so thin and silly that Trivikram chose to write a big filler romantic thread and unnecessary fights with Jagapathi Babu, Ajay etc whose characters served no purpose. Emotional scenes/drama without a strong conflict feels lifeless.
