We have published articles related to how one may prepare and join prestigious institutions like the National Defence Academy. In today’s edition we are publishing about joining forces through CDSE. Well, CDSE is Combined Defence Service Examination and the next exam is going to be held on 16th April in different centres across India. Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2023 will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 16th April, 2023 for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala,; Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai (Madras). The total number of vacancies including NCC ‘C’ entry is 341.
Educational qualifications vary from service to service . Educational Qualifications are as mentioned below:
Ø For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai — Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
Ø For Indian Naval Academy— Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution
Ø For Air Force Academy—Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
Graduates may apply for the same and there is always an advantage for the students who have completed NCC ‘C’ certification. The standard of the papers in Elementary Mathematics will be of Matriculation level. The standard of papers in other subjects will approximately be as may be expected of a graduate of an Indian University. Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using internet banking facility of any Bank. Women candidates are being considered only for the Short Service Commission at OTA. They should indicate OTA as the only choice.
Candidates are required to apply Online using the link www.upsconline.nic.in. It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceed for filling up the online application for the examination. OTR has to be registered only once in lifetime. This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway for filling up the online application for the examination.
For the age limit for different services, aspirants may read the complete advertisement from the UPSC’s website. The Online Applications can be filled upto 10th January, 2023 till 6:00 PM. Joining forces through CDS is a lucrative career one may ever think in life. We have seen many officers from the north eastern region but we need more officers from this region for which we have to prepare and plan for the same as a career option for us. We have seen senior officers like Lieutenant General or Air Marshal from our region and hope that we will have more such officers in near future.
