Intel decided to remind you that it has one more unrepresented Raptor Lake processor in stock, and a unique one.
Jason Xie, Lead Technical Marketing Specialist for the Intel Gaming Industry, showed off the Core i9-13900KS in real time. And it is unlikely that any ordinary CPU would be interesting in the framework of such a demonstration, but the Core i9-13900KS stands out in that it runs at up to 6 GHz out of the box. This is the first such x86-compatible CPU in history.
As you can see, the processor is indeed running at a record frequency. Two cores reached a frequency of 5985 GHz. Of course, these are peak values, and for one or two cores, in reality, modern applications often involve many more cores, and the frequencies will be lower. However, this does not diminish the importance of the Core i9-13900KS.
The processor is expected to be fully announced on January 12th.
