If you have charged an electric vehicle, you will be able to pay through WhatsApp, Log9 partnered with Pulse Energy

Pay for EV charging through WhatsApp: Bengaluru-based Log9 Mobility today announced a partnership with SaaS startup Pulse Energy to launch a WhatsApp-based payment mode at EV charging stations.

Currently, Pulse Energy offers over 550 fast charging points across the country.

Starting today, CPOs partnering with Pulse Energy or using Log9’s Instacharge application will be able to transact via WhatsApp, said a media release.

Users who are interested in enabling WhatsApp-based charging must first sign up for a Pulse Energy business account. This partnership will increase the use of fast chargers as well as facilitate an online payment system at charging stations, which will contribute to the creation of EV charging.

As per the official statement, the WhatsApp payment option will initially be available to drivers of electric three-wheelers and will later be expanded to 2W and 4W EVs. Further, it added that the partnership targets the issue of EV charging in the country and resolves it through easy scan of WhatsApp and pay at Log9 Instacharge partner charging points.

Log9 COO and Co-Founder Karthik Hajela said, “This association is in line with our stand of leading responsible energy, Log9’s core belief. I am sure that the partnership with Pulse Energy will play an important role in providing EV users with an impeccable charging experience leading to the much needed expansion of charging infrastructure and EV mobility in India.

He further added, “When Adish Jain (co-founder of Pulse Energy) and I looked at software providers in the charging market today, we found that everyone was selling cheap, white-label apps to CPOs who were willing to pay were.

We took a different approach and looked at what EV users want and the challenges they face due to the many charging apps out there. “Our approach so far has resulted in higher charger utilization and satisfied EV drivers for CPOs,” says Devang Mistry, CTO and co-founder of Pulse Energy.
