In the contemporary modern world, China has claimed numero uno-ship in many fields of activities & achieverments befitting to its wish of becoming super-power. But simultaneously it has its share of negatives & failures like high inflation, a bad record of human rights, autocratic attitude and of course the great Tibet handling issue. Apart from all these, China has a very bad track record of hanging culprits by state machinery & it has bagged number one in this category world wide.
According to Amnesty International; China is preparing itself to hang as many as 374 offenders coinciding Olympic Games-2008. Last year it has hanged 470 people as per Chinese information, but Amnesty believes that in reality China has hanged around 8000 people which it is not disclosing fearing another feather in its cap in worst human rights record. Amnesty International director Kate Allen comments that if there were Gold Medal in hanging records, China would have bagged that in utmost insanity. From reliable sources it is learnt that China hangs around 22 people everyday & now it is going to hang 374 people during Olympic Games. That is why Amnesty is pressuring International Olympic Association & the Sports persons associates with the Olympics to come out openly to know regarding Chinese plan & prevent the Dragons to do so without fair trail. Also Amnesty is proposing China to convert hanging to life-term imprisonment as an alternative to this inhuman act.
China has a strict norm of hanging people in seventy major crimes such as Tax fraud, adulteration in medicine, drug trafficking, taking bribes etc. Some time of now social activists accuse China of hanging people secretly, hence it is impossible to asses really how many culprits will be hanged during Olympic occasion. Of course it is also important to know when there is a strict guideline for hanging, then why China is hanging people secretly & what is the necessity of hanging people behind the certain.
