The report states that the actor’s manager says that the injuries he suffered are extremely serious, using the term “severe deformities” to describe them. The actor reportedly got around 30 stitches on his cheekbone. The accident took place on December 27 last year, but it has now been reported in the media.
The shoot was reportedly titled Agent From Above, produced by Singapore’s MM2 Asia and Taiwan’s Good Films Production. series was a Chinese-language fantasy series.
The show’s producers told Variety that the crew has resumed work, but the actors have not yet returned to the set as they are being given more time to rest and recover.
The report further adds that the statement released by the production said that the crew was using the camera-equipped drone within standard safety guidelines and that the drone’s propeller blades were “covered by a protective layer and did not explode” Nor were the blades scattered.”
It added that “we are extremely sorry that the accident happened and that Kai suffered injuries to his cheek. Kai was provided with immediate medical attention, and his talent management team also arranged for micro-stitching.”
The production team has launched a full investigation into the incident to find out how a shoot using a drone could have gone so wrong.
