A journey of four months with some massive fights, controversies, and non-stop drama in Bigg Boss 17 has finally come to an end with Munawar Faruqui lifting the coveted trophy. The standup comic walked home with around Rs 50 Lakhs and a brand-new car.
From being called the mastermind to the boring contestant on the show, Munawar Faruqui had a major transformation in the journey.
Munawar’s catchphrase, ‘tujhe tunnel tak chhod dunga’ became a major highlight of the show. However, Munawar’s game completely turned when Ayesha Khan entered the show as a wild card contestant. There were many personal revelations made about Munawar’s relationships. Many times Munawar broke down in tears because of his past.
There came a phase where Munawar was extremely low and found some close friends in Abhishek, Ankita and Mannara. However, towards the end of his journey, Munawar had a major fight with his closest friends Ankita and Vicky. Throughout the game, Munawar had many ups and downs. He showcased his strong as well as emotional side. Munwar was often called out for his half-hearted and confused bonds in the house, but his friendship with Mannara Chopra often made headlines till the last day of the show.
Munawar often got candid about his bond with his son Mikhail. He also made a shocking revelation on the show that he wasn’t aware about his ex-wife’s second marriage until he contacted his ex-father-in-law and inquired about it. He shared with Aishwarya, “She got married, I didn’t even know about it. When I called Mikhail home after 10-15 days, I found out that she got married. I called Mikhail’s nana to ask whether it was true. I understood that Mikhail was here with me and she got married and left. I came to know that she went to another city completely.”
The finale night was a star-studded affair with performances from all the Top 5 contestants. Also the former contestants of the show. There are many entertaining moments with Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek’s roast session.
The theme for Bigg Boss 17 was “Heart, Mind, and Strength.” The participants in the show were initially divided into three categories: “Heart” (Dil), “Mind” (Dimaag), and “Strength” (Dum). Throughout the game, contestants could choose between these three ways. This season, Bigg Boss took an active role in the competition, forming alliances and exhibiting preferences.
The show premiered on October 15, with Salman Khan presenting for the fourteenth time. This time, too, he had to spend some weekends away due to prior engagements. In Salman Khan’s absence, Karan Johar hosted Weekend Ka Vaar throughout weeks 7 and 13. This season, Bigg Boss also brought Arbaaz and Sohail Khan to host on Sundays for a few weeks.
