AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy, Tejashwi Yadav, for poaching his legislators as he addressed the ‘Seemanchal Adhikar Yatra’. Seemanchal is a sub-region in northeast Bihar and includes seven districts.
The All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief is on a three-day tour of Bihar’s Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region and held the ‘Seemanchal Adhikar Yatra’ on March 18 and March 19 to highlight the discrimination meted out to the people by the Centre and the state.
“I made a mistake in the last Assembly elections. I should have fielded candidates from at least 50 seats. This time, we will field more candidates,” Owaisi said, asserting, “The road to Delhi goes through Kisanganj.”
He also took a dig at Nitish Kumar for walking in and out of political alliances. “Nitish pehle Modi se Niqah kar lete hain. Fir talaq de dete hai. Phir Tejashwi se niqah kar lete hai (Nitish Kumar first makes an alliance with PM Modi, then breaks it and gets in an alliance with Tejashwi Yadav),” he said.
Sharing the stage with Owaisi, AIMIM’s Bihar chief Akhtarul Iman blamed four turncoats of his party for the condition of Seemanchal. He also blamed the state government for ignoring the issues of Seemanchal and for buying Seemanchal’s ‘imaan (faith)’.
Hitting out at the defectors, Iman claimed that the RJD would not give them tickets in the upcoming elections.
Akhtarul Iman also alleged a relative of Tejashwi Yadav killed a Muslim girl in Vaishali by drowning her to death.
