The Samsung Galaxy S23 series was recently launched at the company’s Unpacked event and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which gets up to 1TB of internal storage, 45W fast charging support and a new 200MP main camera sensor.
Samsung to manufacture its Galaxy S23 series smartphones in India
The announcement comes on the lines of the announcement of the Union Budget 2023-24, wherein import duties on mobile phone camera lenses have been reduced, positively affecting manufacturing in India.
While Samsung has been manufacturing its phones in India since 2007, the recent developments have come courtesy of the company’s drive to commit to India’s ‘Make in India’ policies. The Samsung Galaxy S23 flagship series of smartphones will be manufactured at the company’s Noida facility in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The massive facility was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi back in 2018 and its the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturing facility. This facility is working in full swing and already caters to the domestic demand for Samsung phones.
The drive to manufacture high-end electronic devices in India has been adopted by many other companies and companies such as Apple have started manufacturing iPhones in India in a bid shift focus from its manufacturing facilities in China. Apple manufactures iPhone 12 series onwards in India, barring the Pro models.
