As the hunt for Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh continues, terrorist Gurpatwan Singh Pannu of Sikh for Justice (SFJ) has issued a threat against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The threat call was made to Assam journalists.
Threatening the chief minister, Pannu said,”Pro-Khalistan supporters imprisoned in Assam have been tortured. Listen very carefully, CM Sarma, the fight is between Pro-Khalistan Sikhs and the Indian regime”.
In the threat call, the SJF General Counsel further said, “Sarma, do not fall prey to this violence.”
“We are seeking the liberation of Punjab from Indian occupation through a peaceful democratic process of Khalistan referendum. If your government is torturing and harassing the six (Amritpal aides lodged in the Dibrugarh Central Jail), you will be held accountable,” added Pannu.
The police crackdown on Amritpal Singh and his outfit ‘Waris Punjab De’ began on March 18, weeks after he and his supporters stormed the Ajnala police station near Amritsar to secure the release of an arrested man.
However, Amritpal Singh managed to dodge the crackdown in Jalandhar and escaped in different vehicles by changing his appearance multiple times, as per police.
Punjab Police have arrested or detained a number of his associates under criminal cases related to spreading disharmony, attempt to murder and attack, police personnel and creating obstructions in the lawful discharge duty by public servants.
They have slapped the stringent National Security Act against some of them.
