LA Lakers superstar LeBron James had his streak of scoring 20+ points in 37 consecutive games broken in the team’s 124-111 win over the Golden State Warriors. The four-time MVP’s streak of tallying at least 20 points per game started on November 6th earlier this season and ended on Friday, February 24th, against the Warriors. James scored 13 points, shooting 5-of-20 from the floor against Steve Kerr’s team.
LBJ compensated for the lack of scoring by stacking up the stat sheet with nine rebounds and eight assists, committing only two turnovers. LeBron James played only 26 minutes, exiting the game with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.
The Lakers were up 106-82 when they pulled James and the rest of the starters out of the game. The Lakers looked more than comfortable maintaining their lead the rest of the way as the Warriors waived the white flag shortly after, inserting their reserves into the game.
The LA Lakers relied heavily on James to produce the goods and help them secure wins before the trade deadline. However, following their roster shake-up and the addition of players like Malik Beasley, D’Angelo Russell, and Jarred Vanderbilt, the Lakerscouldn take significant pressure off LeBron James and Anthony Davis moving forward.
