According to “Kommersant”, the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant is to start assembling cars from Chinese companies BAIC and Dongfeng. At least everything points to it.
On December 28, 2022, legal entities Baik Rus LLC and Vostok Wind Rus LLC were registered in Russia. It is worth adding that the name of the company Dongfeng is translated from Chinese as “east wind”.
These companies were registered simultaneously with Kai Rus LLC, which became a distributor of the new Kaiyi car brand for Russia. The start of production of the corresponding machines at Avtotor was announced just yesterday. At the same time, it became known that Avtotor was at the final stage of negotiations on the production of cars with two more new partners.
Earlier, the Russian Automobile insider Telegram channel reported that the first BAIC cars to be produced in Russia will be the X3 and X35 models. Test production of models is already underwayjust on Avtotor.
