According to LinkedIn’s economic graph data, the pace of new recruitment in India was 23% slower in December 2022 as compared to December 2021. Yet, the Indian workforce appears to be resilient in the face of economic uncertainty, as 4 out of 5 professionals (80%) are considering changing jobs in 2023, according to latest research by LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network. Huh. In this, 88% of professionals in the age group of 18-24 years are considering looking for a new job, while this number of people in the age group of 45-54 years is 64%. Let us tell you that the LinkedIn profile has seen an annual growth of 43% in the last year. 365 million new users have been added in the last 12 months.
Three-quarters (78%) of employees surveyed said that if they had to leave, they would apply for a new job with more confidence. Rising cost pressures and the need for financial security is one of the major reasons forcing employees to look for a new job, as they (35%) want more money. 33% of the people surveyed said that they would like to work in a company where there is a balance between personal and professional life. 1 in 3 (32%) of those surveyed said they are more confident in their abilities and think they can find a better job.
