MacRumors’s A Report An unofficial app is available on Apple’s App Store that claims to be an app version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, a free-for-all text-based AI tool available on the web. The original model developed by OpenAI is based on GPT-3 and is currently being touted as the next biggest innovation in artificial intelligence. However, trending app name ‘ChatGPT is Chat GPT AI with GPT-3’, and has no affiliation with the developers of ChatGPT. This app has been downloaded many times on the App Store and has also been included in the trading apps.
As per reports, the dubious ChatGPT apps are charging users $7.99 (roughly Rs. 650) for a weekly subscription, or $49.99 (roughly Rs. 4,100) for an annual subscription, while the original OpenAI’s ChatGPT AI technology is absolutely free to use.
ChatGPT is currently only available on the web. However, the technology on which the chatbot is based is GPT-3 developed by OpenAI, which has seen apps and services connected to a huge range of applications including chatbots, language translation, and many more.
