Mercedes-Benz has finally started delivering its AMG One hypercar to customers. In total, the company will release 275 of these machines and, of course, as is usually the case in such cases, all copies are sold out long before the start of deliveries.
Who will get the first car is unknown, but it was previously reported that racers Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and David Coulthard placed orders for the AMG One.
This hypercar stands out even against the background of its competitors. This is a car that really implements Formula 1 technologies. Actually, due to the difficulty of transferring them to a production road car, AMG One could not get to customers for so long. Recall that the car was introduced five years ago.
Like modern Formula 1 cars, the Mercedes hypercar has a hybrid powertrain. It is based on a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, but it spins up to 11,000 rpm. Complementing the installation are four electric motors, and together all this provides power of 1000 hp, acceleration to 100 km / h in 2.9 s and a top speed of 350 km / h.
When such cars were still available for pre-order, prices started at 2.7 million euros.
