Mahindra has increased the prices of its flagship SUV Scorpio-N. This is the first price hike by the company this year. The company had announced a price hike from 2023 only last year. After the change in prices, the Scorpio-N has now become costlier by Rs 1 lakh. The company attributed the increase in prices to rising input and operating costs.
Explain that the prices of different variants of Scorpio-N have been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The Z8 4WD variant of the Scorpio-N has received the maximum price hike of Rs 1.01 lakh. Earlier the price of this variant was Rs 19.94 lakh. Now its price has increased to Rs 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
The top-end variant Z8L 4-wheel drive has got the least price hike. Now the price of this variant starts from Rs 24.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about the increase in prices according to the engine, the petrol and diesel engine options have seen the maximum increase in the prices of the base variants. At the same time, the prices of the top variants have been increased the least. The prices of the base variants have been increased from Rs 65,000 to Rs 75,000.
The Scorpio-N has been brought in both petrol and diesel engines. Its 2.0 turbo petrol engine produces 200 bhp power and 270 Nm torque. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, on the other hand, is available in two state options. Its lower version gives 132 bhp power and 300 newton meter torque. Whereas its higher version generates 175 bhp and 370 newton meter torque. It has the option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
The Scorpio-N is also made available in 4X4 drivetrain option along with 2X2. With the 4X4 drivetrain option, the new Scorpio-N can prove to be a great off-road SUV. The Mahindra Scorpio-N is built on a ladder frame chassis. This makes the Scorpio-N a very rough and tough off-road SUV.
This SUV does not disappoint those who are fond of off-roading. The price of the base variant Z2 of Mahindra Scorpio-N now starts at Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
